ORLANDO – There’s a new breed of guest at The Villas of Grand Cypress. Actually, many new breeds, because the popular resort has gone pet friendly.
"People travel and vacation with their pets and those travelers now have a home-like option for their Orlando visits," said General Manager Mark Cox.
The resort has 146 Mediterranean-style villas and suites available as Club Suites or One-, Two-Three- and Four Bedroom Villas that also have living room space and full kitchens. The suites are 650 square feet, and the multi-bedroom villas are up to 3,100 square feet. Pets up permitted only in designated units and must be announced prior to arrival.
The first four-legged guest at The Villas of Grand Cypress was Bo-D, a Havanese traveling with the Strausberg family from Cape Coral, Florida.
Pet walk areas are available. Pets must be leashed or restrained when in public spaces, and they are not allowed in restaurants, pool areas or on golf courses.
"Our villas very much feel like home and the option for visiting while traveling with a pet makes that feeling complete," Cox said.
The Villas of Grand Cypress offers facilities for a total on-property vacation. Golf is the best-known amenity—45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed courses.
