Goergen Named Sales Manager at Grand Cypress Golf Resort

Orlando, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2011) –Renee Goergen has been named golf sales manager at Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort, Orlando’s premier golf resort. In this position, Goergen will work to attract groups of 12 or more golfers and facilitate golf outings for the resort’s corporate clients.

Goergen comes to Grand Cypress from PGA National Resort and Spa, where she spent the last five years as golf sales manager and where she began her passion for playing golf.

Born and raised in Buffalo, NY, she received her Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Recreation Management with a concentration in Tourism Marketing, Sports and Recreation Management from Niagara University in NY. A big sports fanatic, especially for Buffalo teams, she also worked as a game day promoter for Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fla.

Villas of Grand Cypress is an award-winning resort centrally located in Orlando and adjacent to Walt Disney World®. It provides a secure, secluded, natural environment on 1,500 acres. The resort offers 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf. The North, South and East nines form a 27-hole combination of classic Nicklaus challenges, which place a premium on strategy and accuracy. The New Course is an authentic links experience, inspired by the Old Course at St. Andrews, featuring 18 holes that are so admired by tour pros, they utilize it to prepare for the British Open.

Spacious accommodations are ideally positioned along the fairways and waterways, ranging from Club Suites to Luxury Guest Villas, with one to four bedrooms. Each provides spectacular views of the waterways, or fairways of the North Course, with private terraces, high-speed Internet access, flat-screen televisions, large baths, among other features.

Golf Courses of Study: Great Resorts That Will Teach You a Lesson

The curriculum at the Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, in Orlando, FL is nearly as wide-ranging as the rides at nearby theme parks.  This GOLF Magazine Top 25 school spreads across 21 acres of grassy golf laboratories.  The most intensive course of study is in the Fred Griffin Players School, a three-day program with only six students and two instructors including GOLF Magazine Top 100 instructor Fred Griffin himself.  The school employs use of a ModelGolf swing analysis overlay, club recommendations based on the latest swing analysis and launch monitor data, two nine-hole playing lessons, and a one-year membership in the Academy’s on-line Personal Improvement Program.  Grand Cypress also offers a variety of other schools ranging from the Mental Impact program— Dr. Ryan Caserta’s curriculum that teaches the mental game through sport-specific eye training— to women’s’ and junior programs. ...
