Grand Cypress Academy of Golf Named


ORLANDO, Fla. – January 18, 2011 –Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort has earned a place on the inaugural listing of Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Best Fitters.”

For the first time in their 60-year history, the prestigious magazine is recommending the best places in America to go for a golf club fitting.  The list debuts in the February “Hot List” issue or accessible at

Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, located at Villas of Grand Cypress Golf Resort, is equipped with cutting-edge club fitting technology.  The system utilizes high-speed cameras, 3-D sensors, ball-flight launch monitors and a variety of state-of-the-art devices to measure everything from launch angle, ball speed, club-head speed and ball spin.  The Academy’s club fitting program helps golfers achieve more distance, greater accuracy, optimum launch angle, better feel and effective spin rates.  A student may purchase clubs or have their current clubs adjusted on site based on recommendations, with the Academy guaranteeing a positive effect on the student’s game.

The process for determining America’s 100 Best Club Fitters involved three criteria: the location must be open to the public, there must be access to clubs from top manufacturers, and the fitter must be nominated by an industry executive, rater of instructor.  More than 700 leading fitting facilities were evaluated by a panel of judges before the list was narrowed to the 100 best.

Golf Courses of Study: Great Resorts That Will Teach You a Lesson
