Smart Meetings July 2013

With its appealing atmosphere of seclusion and easy proximity to entertainment attractions across central Florida, the Villas of Grand Cypress is the go-to destination for business and leisure travelers in Orlando. Located adjacent to Walt Disney World yet seemingly a world away, the 1,500-acre resort features 146 luxury villas, world-class amenities, ample meeting space, and engaging activities including 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf, the renowned Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, and complimentary bicycles.

What’s New: An investment of more than $100,000 per luxury villa has ushered in a new era of comfort and enhanced standards at the Villas of Grand Cypress. The newly redesigned villas feature thoughtful details and custom furnishings for a tranquil balance of contemporary and classic styles. Look for materials from rich Zebrano wood to natural Shabui stacked stone, luxurious club chairs, and sectional sofa sleepers in rich American leather. Guest baths feature sculptural, deep-walled bathing tubs; freestanding glass-enclosed shower equipped with a European shower tower featuring body jets, a hand held shower wand, and a rain showerhead; custom quartz counters with double sinks; and illuminated mirror integrated with 19” HD television. Newly renovated kitchens showcase top-of-the-line GE stainless steel appliances, walnut cabinetry, quartz countertops, polished chrome fixtures and Keurig single shot beverage maker. Your attendees will find a true sanctuary on the relaxing patios that overlook the golf courses and waterways.

Meeting Space: The Villas of Grand Cypress is ideal for meetings and events of all types. The resort’s 10,400 square-foot Executive Meeting Center includes 7,200 square feet of Mediterranean-inspired space through three ballrooms, which can be divided into as many as eight smaller, soundproof rooms. The 3,200 square-foot Pavilion is a dynamic spot for daytime meetings and nighttime buyouts, with lovely golf course views year-round. The resort’s Food & Beverage team fashions everything from coffee breaks to themed banquets under the discerning eye of Director Billy Singleton, who has earned recognition as a National Caterer of the Year by the National Association of Catering Executives.

Golf Courses of Study: Great Resorts That Will Teach You a Lesson

The curriculum at the Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, in Orlando, FL is nearly as wide-ranging as the rides at nearby theme parks.  This GOLF Magazine Top 25 school spreads across 21 acres of grassy golf laboratories.  The most intensive course of study is in the Fred Griffin Players School, a three-day program with only six students and two instructors including GOLF Magazine Top 100 instructor Fred Griffin himself.  The school employs use of a ModelGolf swing analysis overlay, club recommendations based on the latest swing analysis and launch monitor data, two nine-hole playing lessons, and a one-year membership in the Academy’s on-line Personal Improvement Program.  Grand Cypress also offers a variety of other schools ranging from the Mental Impact program— Dr. Ryan Caserta’s curriculum that teaches the mental game through sport-specific eye training— to women’s’ and junior programs. ... Now you’re rental vehicle is descending into Disney World / Epcot air space, bracing for the whole weltanschauung of that. Turn right at the end ...Read More
