Villas of Grand Cypress Orlando to Host Science of Golf Instruction and Club Fitting Conference

09/06/2012

Orlando, Fla. – September 6, 2012 – Fred Griffin, Director of Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, is to be one of the featured speakers, as well as the “host pro” for the second annual Science of Golf Instruction and Club Fitting convention hosted by FlightScope on September 23-25 at the Villas of Grand Cypress Orlando.

The conference – which attracts many of the leading golf instructors, club fitters, industry professionals and swing enthusiasts – is designed primarily as an educational seminar, centered on FlightScope’s 3D technology for golf.  Key speakers at this year's event include Henri Johnson, founder and inventor of FlightScope, as well as fitting experts, application specialists and GOLF Magazine Top 100 Teachers Mitchell Spearman and Griffin.

Now headquartered in Orlando, FlightScope is a leading golf tracking technology that accurately records ball trajectory and actual launch data.  Club fitters worldwide, tour professionals and avid golfers devoted to game improvement use this technology at high-profile teaching centers, including the Grand Cypress Academy of Golf.

Flightscope is no stranger to Grand Cypress, where last year at the LPGA Tour’s CME Group Titleholders event, five Flightscope monitors were set up on the practice range for use by the LPGA Tour pros.  Johnson, David Nell (an application specialist) and Griffin were on hand to help with the technology.

Villas of Grand Cypress Orlando is an award-winning resort offering one of Central Florida’s most diverse golfing landscapes.  Its unique collection of Jack Nicklaus Signature-designed golf features the North, South and East nines, which form a 27-hole combination of classic Nicklaus challenges that place a premium on strategy and accuracy.  The New Course is an authentic links experience, inspired by the Old Course at St. Andrews, featuring 18 holes that are admired by tour pros, who utilize it to prepare for the British Open.

Adjacent to Walt Disney World®, Villas of Grand Cypress Orlando provides a secluded, natural environment on 1,500 manicured acres that are perfect for peace, quiet and pure relaxation.  The resort’s spacious accommodations are ideally positioned along the fairways and waterways, and range from Club Suites to Luxury Guest Villas, with one to four bedrooms.  Each provides a private terrace, high-speed Internet access, flat-screen television, large bath, attentive housekeeping services and much more.

For registration and more information on the second annual Science of Golf Instruction and Club Fitting conference, visit the Flightscope website

Golf Courses of Study: Great Resorts That Will Teach You a Lesson

The curriculum at the Grand Cypress Academy of Golf, in Orlando, FL is nearly as wide-ranging as the rides at nearby theme parks.  This GOLF Magazine Top 25 school spreads across 21 acres of grassy golf laboratories.  The most intensive course of study is in the Fred Griffin Players School, a three-day program with only six students and two instructors including GOLF Magazine Top 100 instructor Fred Griffin himself.  The school employs use of a ModelGolf swing analysis overlay, club recommendations based on the latest swing analysis and launch monitor data, two nine-hole playing lessons, and a one-year membership in the Academy’s on-line Personal Improvement Program.  Grand Cypress also offers a variety of other schools ranging from the Mental Impact program— Dr. Ryan Caserta’s curriculum that teaches the mental game through sport-specific eye training— to women’s’ and junior programs. ... Now you’re rental vehicle is descending into Disney World / Epcot air space, bracing for the whole weltanschauung of that. Turn right at the end ...Read More
