Best Team Building Activities: Mild & Wild

Villas of Grand Cypress’s fun team-building exercises that fuel a little friendly competition, while also firing up the friendships

Cosmic Golf

In this nighttime offering, the resort transforms its driving range into a glowing grassland lined with neon track lights and lit-up targets.

Minute to Win It

This daytime teambuilding activity or after-dinner entertainment is inspired by the game show where contestants attempt to complete deceptively simple games made from household items. After a demo and practice session, each challenge is played and teams are scored accordingly until a Minute to Win It champion is crowned.

The Big Break Challenge

Based on the Golf Channel show of the same name (where contestants engage in a series of golfing challenges), this activity pits players against each other to complete the series of challenges to the satisfaction of pros at Grand Cypress Academy of Golf. The challenges include putting, bunker, play, and driving.

Part soccer, part golf, footgolf is a precision sport that involved kicking a soccer ball in a cup in as few shots as possible. In addition to playing a round, teams can also compete for longest drive (kick) and closest to the pin.

Corn Hole Tournament

Classic lawn games make for some of the best teambuilding exercises, promoting encouragement, friendly competition, and networking. Plus, you could be the worst athlete and still be able to play – just as long as you can hold a bean bag and throw.

Themed Dinners: Cuisine with Concepts

The best banquet menus and creative menu items that are deliciously destination-focused.

Orlando Beach Party

Groups booking the sand-sculpting teambuilding activity can complement it with a beach-themed buffet, including ocean-inspired cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as well as an amazing seafood dinner.

Tailgate Together

Dine on grilled delights (burgers, dogs, brats), drink locally crafted brews, and play lawn games in this tailgate-themed event. This dinner is a great complement to the corn hole teambuilding tournament and can be held in a variety of locations across the resort.

Craft & Cosmic

For groups booking the cosmic golf teambuilding activity, this complementary cocktail reception allows attendees to create their own neon cocktails (think liquors like Hpnotiq, blue curacao, Midori, and more) to sip on during a round of cosmic golf.

The Grand Food Truck Challenge

Not just a dinner, but a teambuilding activity, this offering divides attendees into teams, has them choose a theme from a provided list, then tasks them with building their own food truck. Teams work with the chef on their menus and then compete to build the best food truck facade. Winners are judged by staff.

Florida Citrus Party

This offering honors what Orlando was best known for before theme parks: citrus. Enjoy brightly colored décor, a variety of citrus-infused food and drinks, and festive fun. Activities include team cocktail creations using local citrus ingredients.

Off-Site Meeting Venues: Landmarks to Live It Up

Meetings become lifetime experiences when hosted in one of Orlando’s most unique meeting venues.

Paradise Cove

Tucked away in a private corner of Lake Buena Vista, this beautiful reception venue is an idyllic oasis on the shores of Lake Bryan. Twinkling lights and tiki torches add a magical glow, while rainbow-hued Adirondack chairs, a palm-thatched cabana, and sandy beach lend an island vibe to your group event.

Ports of Call is the primary banquet facility at SeaWorld Orlando and is dedicated to hosting groups, special events, and catered functions. Enhanced with a nautical theme, Ports of Call offers 12,000 square feet of indoor ballroom space complete with lighting and sound system ideal for any underwater production.

Disney Springs

Located just a few miles south of the resort, this entertainment distict features a variety of unique group venues. Try an upscale spin on the classic American pastime of bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes, enjoy a private dinner at the new Morimoto Asia, or dine with the stars at the Planet Hollywood Observatory.

Universal Orlando Resort

Whether you’re bringing the entire company or a cozy group, Universal has immersive and engaging activities sure to create lasting memories. For large corporate groups, ask about a CityWalk Block Party, where you’ll enjoy themed food and entertainment of your choosing. For groups under 200, check out the many custom dining options as well as the popular Ride & Dine program.

Meeting Technology & Amenities: Simple to Smart

Offerings – from high-tech highlights to just plain ingenious add-ons – that make holding a meeting at Villas of Grand Cypress unlike anything else.

Championship Golf

With 45 holes of Jack Nicklaus signature–designed golf, the resort can easily help groups add golf to their itineraries. Host an official golf tournament (maybe raise money for charity) or simply book an afternoon tee time for downtime.

Academy of Golf

No time for a round of golf? No problem. This 21-acre practice facility at the Villas of Grand Cypress features Jack Nicklaus–signature-designed par 3, 4 and 5s, plus a driving range and putting green.

Marilyn Monroe Spa

The spa has been designed as if you were walking into the iconic starlet’s California home. The staff, who prefer to be called the “Production Crew,” is engaging and friendly with unmatched therapeutic services. Not a bad way to take a load off in between meetings.

Oasis Pool & Bar

The beauty of Villas at Grand Cypress is that you’re right on the edge of Disney World, yet your group couldn’t feel further away. Relish the serenity at this pool, reminiscent of a natural lagoon that weaves through tropical vegetation and rocks. Drinks are brought to your lounge chair under the shade of palm trees.

Private and Versatile Meeting Facilities

The Villas at Grand Cypress recently renovated 7,200-square-foot Executive Meeting Center offers four separate meeting rooms, all which surround an open atrium and overlook a scenic garden terrace, as well as offer natural light and easy access to the outdoors. These meeting rooms can be further divided into eight self-contained, soundproof meeting and banquet rooms.

Lake Windsong

Find a private 1,000-foot white-sand beach and a variety of watersports at this 21-acre lake, located at the neighboring Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress – a perfect place to unwind after a day of meetings.

Event Themes: Prepare to be Inspired

A few of Villas of Grand Cypress’s corporate party ideas that your team will be talking about well into next quarter.

Orlando Beach Party

Sand is delivered to the resort for an authentic beach vibe, as well as sand-sculpting lessons from pros. Ocean-inspired cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and seafood buffet are served right on the sand on beach blankets.

Block Party

The 12 courts of the Grand Cypress Tennis and Racquet Club create the perfect environment for a good, old-fashioned block party. This event décor transforms the space into different streets that you can party on and get to know your neighbors.

Casino Night

Bring the atmosphere of Las Vegas or Monte Carlo to your next meeting with a casino night including a wide range of traditional casino games, like Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Texas Hold ‘Em.

Florida Farm to Table

In this offering, the resort chef customizes a menu using only seasonal local ingredients for a trust taste of Florida, while the resort team brings in unique local entertainment.

Speakeasy Soiree

This ’20s-themed event transforms the Executive Meeting Center into a party of Gatsby proportions and includes a hidden entrance, themed outfits and décor, a jazz band, and Prohibition-style drinks.
