Though Mardi Gras traditionally lasts only two weeks, Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebrations extend for nearly two months. Universal Orlando embraces the best of Mardi Gras, including nightly parades, exotic street performers, costumes, and beads in their iconic theme park setting. Your park admission grants you access to these nightly celebrations, so the New Orleans spirit is guaranteed during a spring visit to the park.
On top of the nightly parades and authentic, ongoing celebrations, Universal Orlando also hosts live music from big-name performers on select nights, as well as shows from authentic New Orleans bands. Get your MLB offseason fix with a trip to spring training. The Atlanta Braves claim the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World as their training site, but 15 other major league teams will arrive in Orlando, Florida, this spring. Throughout the spring, these teams play in the Grapefruit League, which pits professional teams against each other at smaller parks throughout Central Florida.
Spring training allows you to get closer to your favorite teams in the MLB. Participating teams include the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays. With plenty of practice and a full season still in front of them, you just may be able to say that you watched your team hit the field long before they made it to the World Series.

Florida Strawberry Festival
Nearly 500,000 visitors a year flock to Plant City, Florida, during the spring for the annual Florida Strawberry Festival. This festival is among the most unique spring events, and also the most unique to Florida, as it celebrates the strawberry harvest in Eastern Hillsborough County (about a 45-minute drive from our hotel). The Florida Strawberry Festival has all the charm of a county fair, yet the entertainment and events to draw big crowds.
Here, you’ll encounter headline entertainment, livestock shows, classic carnival rides, and the event’s iconic strawberry shortcake--which is worth the visit all on its own. Take the time to explore Florida’s small-town spirit and local culture, as this is truly a festival you won’t find anywhere else.

Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
Vibrant gardens, mouth watering dining, and some of the area’s best entertainment come to life at the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. An annual affair, the International Flower & Garden Festival is the perfect way to celebrate spring as dazzling flowers and greenery are on display throughout the park. Expect outdoor pop-up kitchens serving up seasonal food and drink, lush garden spaces and inventive wildlife habitats, as well as a “how-to” garden complete with hands-on tours.
In addition to garden-themed attractions, the festival is also home to the Garden Rocks Concert Series. Enjoy live performances and waterfront views for seven days a week throughout the festival.
