Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando

Though Mardi Gras traditionally lasts only two weeks, Universal Orlando’s Mardi Gras celebrations extend for nearly two months. Universal Orlando embraces the best of Mardi Gras, including nightly parades, exotic street performers, costumes, and beads in their iconic theme park setting. Your park admission grants you access to these nightly celebrations, so the New Orleans spirit is guaranteed during a spring visit to the park.

On top of the nightly parades and authentic, ongoing celebrations, Universal Orlando also hosts live music from big-name performers on select nights, as well as shows from authentic New Orleans bands. This is also your chance to try mouthwatering Cajun food and drink that’s as good as it gets without visiting NOLA.

Mardi Gras kicks off February 9 through April 4, 2019

Spring Training

Get your MLB offseason fix with a trip to spring training. The Atlanta Braves claim the ESPN Wide World of Sports at Walt Disney World as their training site, but 15 other major league teams will arrive in Orlando, Florida, this spring. Throughout the spring, these teams play in the Grapefruit League, which pits professional teams against each other at smaller parks throughout Central Florida.

Spring training allows you to get closer to your favorite teams in the MLB. Participating teams include the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays. With plenty of practice and a full season still in front of them, you just may be able to say that you watched your team hit the field long before they made it to the World Series.

Spring games begin February 22 through March 26, 2019
